Working in the turfgrass maintenance industry requires a very special set of

skills from agronomics to leadership to business savvy. Throughout my career I have gained these necessary skills. My experience across a varied spectrum of clubs and companies has developed my expertise adapting to specific and unique situations that benefits my employer best.

A wide background working with prominent golf facilities in leading metropolitan areas, including the highly-regarded Palm Beaches, Philadelphia and New York City markets led to my current Golf Course Superintendent position at the prestigious Frenchman’s Reserve Country Club after transitioning from Jupiter Hills Club - Hills Course. While there, I played a key role in a 2020 renovation at JHC, including new construction of greens, all bunkers, fairways and irrigation adjustments.
The greens were sprigged to TifEagle and the fairways and rough were sprigged to Celebration Bermudagrass. My involvement with the day-to-day maintenance and summer cultural practices has well prepared me to continue my agronomic success. Extensive involvement with the 2017 Village Course renovation added to my already extensive construction acumen.

During my time as Superintendent at Country Club of York, I implemented a full-scale bunker restoration and completed greens drainage installation, which added to the knowledge and related skill set developed from a grow-in early in my career. The maintenance operation at York produced results: increased staff productivity, expert maintenance of a five-year capital and operating budget, and achieved their first-ever certification in the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for golf courses.

In 2013, I accepted a new superintendent position at Hartefeld National Golf Club. As soon as I arrived, we dove into a project to convert the tees and fairways to bentgrass. That same summer my wife was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. I took a Professional Leave of Absence to navigate our family through this trying time, while still maintaining my extensive network of professional contacts as well as volunteering at amateur and PGA tour events.

One year later, I returned full time to my career and gained additional valuable experience at varying facility types, including landscape services, which rounds out my green industry expertise. I have maintained connections within the golf industry by networking, conference participation and volunteering in tournaments, which ultimately offered opportunity working at the world-renowned Jupiter Hills Club and currently at the highly regarded Frenchman’s Reserve Country Club. As the Superintendent of
the both golf courses, I am directly responsible for delivering championship conditions to a

discerning membership.

“Whatever it takes” is a motto I like to use – It has always been my way of thinking to

make it the best it can be.
